Parking and Bus Transportation at St. Thomas Aquinas

Driving and parking on St. Thomas Aquinas High School property is considered a privilege. Violations may result in administrative action.

Parking decals must be purchased annually from the Director of Student Activities. All cars must visibly display the appropriate decal at all times. The parking lot in the front of school is reserved for faculty, staff, and visitors. (Some areas in the gym lot and the garage are designated for faculty use only).

St. Thomas Aquinas High School cannot be responsible for cars parked on the swales around the perimeter of the school. These swales are considered tow-away zones by the city of Ft. Lauderdale.

Cars should be locked at all times. The school is not responsible for any car or any of its contents. Students may not go to their cars at any time during the school day without administrative approval.

The posted speed limit (5 m.p.h.) must be maintained while driving on school property. Reckless driving endangers the lives of others. The parking lots are supervised during the school day. Students are strongly encouraged to wear their seat belts.

Student vehicles may be searched on a random basis. Students are encouraged to respect surrounding areas, especially school zones, etc. Students are not permitted to loiter in any parking area before or after school. Students are never permitted to park in handicapped parking spots.

Students are not allowed to write on or vandalize cars in any St. Thomas Aquinas High School parking lot.

All numbered spaces are reserved for STA faculty and staff.

General Bus Policies

Students must carry their bus passes at all times.  If a student stops riding the bus, parents must notify Mrs. Clarke and turn in his/her BUS PASS to the front office.  There is a wait list for bus seats; therefore, a flat fee of $100.00 will be charged if there is no notification fo withdrawal from the bus.  A fee of $5.00 will be charged for a lost bus pass.

Students who ride on a STA bus must observe all of the rules and policies that they should observe on campus. Additionally, STA bus riders must behave as Christian gentlemen and ladies at the bus stop.
The bus driver is the authority on the bus and must be respected at all times. Students must remain seated while the bus is in motion. No verbal outbursts or throwing of objects are permitted. Disrespect to others will not be tolerated.
Failure to observe the rules will result in disciplinary action which may include the loss of riding privileges.
