ST. THOMAS AQUINAS HIGH SCHOOL TEACHER PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
St. Thomas Aquinas High School employs or contracts teachers who hold baccalaureate or higher degrees and who are professionally certified or in the certification process.
Education and Certification:
- BACHELOR’S DEGREE IN FIELD
- MASTER’S DEGREE IN FIELD PREFERRED
- FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION CERTIFICATE IN FIELD, GRADES 9 -12
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of three years’ teaching at the high school level
INSTRUCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Planning, organization, and implementation of instructional programs
- Excellent oral and written language communication
- Clear speaking voice
- Excellent classroom management
- Technology implementation and integration:
——–Use of digital textbooks and grade books
——–Google Suite
——–Blackboard
——–Database and Spreadsheet management

Staff positions:
Athletic Director
As a Catholic school, St. Thomas Aquinas endeavors to challenge all students to achieve their greatest potential in all areas of growth. In the Catholic atmosphere, an environment of love, respect, cooperation, dignity, prayfulness, justice and personal responsibility is paramount. The Athletic Director and all Coaches are expected to reflect this Catholic ethos at St. Thomas Aquinas High School.
The Athletic Director represents the school in all matters pertaining to athletic operations. In this role he/she must emphasize the opportunities and achievements of the entire program. This public persona represents the school’s desire to achieve success in a quality manner.
The Athletic Director is expected to provide leadership, challenge, supervision and affirmation to all coaches, staff, athletes, parents and volunteers.
All regulations, as required by the Archdiocese of Miami, the FHSAA and the State of Florida will be followed.
The primary focus of the many athletic opportunities at school is the effort to bring to maturity the God-given talents of the students. Total concern must be given to the well-being of the student-athletes in their health, skills, emotions and spiritual well-being.
