SUMMER READING

 

ENGLISH DEPARTMENT

Students will read the stories listed below. Students will submit the text with annotations during the second week of Quarter 1. Basic guidelines for annotating are: identifying where essential ideas and information are in the text; identifying the development of characters, plot, and themes in a text; expressing the main ideas of a text; tracing the development of ideas/arguments in a text; and introducing a few of the reader’s thoughts and reactions. Students must use Post-it notes or write/highlight in the text for credit.
