Mu Alpha Theta
The Saint Thomas Aquinas Mu Alpha Theta belongs to the National Mu Alpha Theta Mathematics Honor Society, dedicated to inspiring interest in mathematics, developing strong scholarship in the subject, and promoting the enjoyment of mathematics in high school. Competition members participate in practice and many contest activities. Tutoring members tutor other students and participate in Catholic Math League contest during the school year.

Requirements for induction:
Students must be taking honor Algebra 2 or more advance course, and maintain a cumulative average of 3.9 or higher in Math.
A one-time membership fee of $10 will be assessed for each new member.
Requirements for Sustaining membership:
- For none-competition members: At least 6 tutoring hours must be achieved per quarter, and a score of at least 10/25 must be earned on the Catholic Math League contest (one contest a month)
- For Competition members: No more than 2 absences from practice sections is allowed, and a score of at least 12/25 must be earned on the Catholic Math League contest each month, and participation in all Log1 contest is required
If a member cannot maintain the academic requirement, he/she will be put on probation, and if he/she fails to achieve the academic requirement in the following quarter, his/her membership will be terminated. MEETING: - For all Members: Meeting monthly on Wednesday (for Catholic Math League contest) - For Competition members: Meeting bi-weekly (to practice Math and to do Log1 contest).
Mu Alpha Theta tutoring is offered at every Math teacher room after school. Moreover, general Math tutoring at any level is offered after school in Mr. Byrne room (303) on Monday and Wednesday and in Mr. Hoang room (304) on Tuesday and Wednesday.
