Dear Parents and Players,

 

Effective starting Monday December 23, 2019, Julius Sandi will be the Head Basketball Coach for St. Thomas Aquinas.

 

Coach Sandi promotes a team concept, values open communication with players and parents, stresses the importance of academic excellence in combination with athletic performance and believes in fair and equal treatment in regards to praise, constructive criticism and discipline. Finally, he supports and reflects the mission of St. Thomas athletics - to develop not only the skills, but also the character of the young men and women involved.

 

Julius was initially hired as the lead assistant because of his expertise in player development and basketball strategy. Many people have already noticed the great strides our players have made this year; Julius was a critical part of that improvement. His ability to develop and expand the skills of basketball players has lead to an incredible amount of collegiate scholarships and even professional opportunities for players he has coached or trained, many of which are currently playing. His well-respected ties into the AAU, high school and college basketball communities make him an invaluable asset in building our program as well as maximizing the opportunities of our current players to receive collegiate attention.

 

He brings to STA a wealth of basketball experience over a 15 year period. He has been an integral part of many successful teams which enjoyed multiple deep runs into the playoffs and two state championships. He is known in the basketball world not only for his basketball acumen but also for being a good human being. Please help us welcome and support Coach Julius Sandi.
