STA Celebrates 12 National Merit Semifinalists

St. Thomas Aquinas High School is proud to announce that twelve of our outstanding students have been named National Merit Semifinalists—a distinction earned by less than one percent of high school juniors nationwide.

This year’s honorees include Jad E. Abuhamda, Zora M. Angelovski, Nicholas J. DiMaggio,  Fynn C. du Plessis, Joseph F. Eacobacci, Matthew J. Feinberg, Caden J. Kastler, Aline E. Kermis, Kenzie A. McAllister, Lila J. Pistorius, Cody J. Straka, and Ricardo L. Thorndike. Together, these remarkable scholars represent the very best of Raider Nation, setting a shining example of perseverance, discipline, and academic excellence.

Each year, more than 1.3 million juniors across the country enter the National Merit Scholarship Program by taking the PSAT/NMSQT. Earning a spot as a Semifinalist requires scoring among the highest in the nation, a reflection of both individual talent and the strength of the academic foundation that supports them.

At St. Thomas Aquinas, success like this doesn’t happen by chance. It is built on a rigorous, college-preparatory curriculum, a commitment to innovation including over 30 Advanced Placement courses and the pioneering Cambridge program, and the daily dedication of faculty who challenge students to think critically, grow in faith, and pursue excellence in every endeavor.

For these twelve Raiders, the recognition is not only a personal milestone but also a celebration of the values that define STA: determination, leadership, and the pursuit of greatness. Their achievement places STA at the forefront of academic excellence in South Florida and underscores why families choose our community as the place where students thrive.
